To be told...

'...take a look at four core issues that are of crucial importance to you - even if you don't realise it. First, Go is not merely the Creator of our life. He is also the Author of our life, and he writes each person's life to reveal his divine story. There never has been nor ever will be another life like mine - or like yours. Just as there is only one face and name like mine, so there is only one story like mine. And God writes the story of my life to make something known about himself, the One who wrote me. The same is true for you. Your life and mine not only reveal who we are, but they also help reveal who God is.

Second, neither your life nor mine is a series of random scenes that pile up like shoes in a closet. We don't have to clear out old stories to make a room for new ones. Both your story and mine have unique characters, surprising plot twists, central themes, tension and suspense, and deep significance. Each is an intirguing tale, and neither is a fiction. Our story is truer than any other reality we know, and each of us must discover the meaning of what God has written as our life story. In our story God God shows us what he's up to and what he wants us to be about.

With the third core issue, things start to get exciting. When I study and understand mylife story, I can then join God as coauthor. I don't have to settle for merely being a reader of my life; God calls me to be a writer of my future. He asks me to take the only life I will ever be given and shape it in the direction he outlines for me. I am to keep writing, moving foreward into the plot that God has woven into the sinews of my soul.

And fourth, there is necessity and blessing of telling your story to others. To the degree that we know God and then joing him in writing our story, we are honored to join others in the calling of storytelling. God of course, is the Master Storyteller. his self-revelation is captured in a sweeping narrative and then given to us in the Book that grips our heart and captures our soul. God also creates a story with each person's life - a story that we are meant to tell. And since we are calleed to tell our story, we are also called to listen to the stories of others. And since we are to tell and to listen, then even more so we are called to encourage others to know and tell and listen to God's story as well as their own.'... (Dan B. Allender)

So go and tell your story...

Cold...

I just got back from detached session I do twice a week with the youth work project I volunteer for...basically a single session lasts for about two hors and we go around the estate and engaging with young people we 'randomly' meet on street...'randomly' only because we kind of know where thay might be hanging out...Detached in winter is not much fun as it's cold, and often rainy, and cold, and quiet - not may peoply are hanging out in a cold, and it's cold...if you know me, well, a little bit or very well, you know I don't really like cold...and yes I am from Poland and we do get -20C in winter back ther but it does not mean I can go outside in a Tshirt and shorts...I am cold...and usually I am ready for detached...ski socks, winter shoes, 3 hoodies or 5 layers of jumpers and a skii jacket...and I am still cold...so what happened today?

I was in a bit of a rush this afternoon and apart from detached I helped out with football session, which is for an hour and outside...then 1 hour 'break' and detached...so what happened?

Did I mention I was in a bit of a rush? I have no idea what I was thinking or if I even switched my brain on but as I got out of the car ready for the football session I had normal socks on, my converse trainers, which by the way I love very much and they need replacing but I think I love them too much...anyway :) normal socks, normal trainers skii jacket and underneath...1 hoodie!!!! ONE HOODIE!!! Seriously...I was so so so so SOOO cold...and I think I have learnt my lesson...winter is still here and it's really cold outside...I am cold!!

success...

There are some things success is not...

It's not fame...it's not money or power...

Success is waking up in the morning so excitied about what you have to do that you literally fly out the door...

It's getting to work with people you love...

Success is connecting with the world and making people feel...

It's finding a way to bind together people who have nothing in common but the dream...

It's falling asleep at night knowing that you did the best job you could...

Success is joy and freedom and friendship...

...And success is love...

'Anyway'

'People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway'.

Mail

Did you know that the first road side post boxes appeared in 1852 in the Channel Islands?
Did you know that wall boxes (like the one on the photo) were introduced only 5 years later? No?
Don’te worry i didn’t know either…so why am i taking about post boxes??

If i haven’t learned a lot in my life, I have learned one thing for sure – to take a day at a time, and sometimes a moment at a time…and there is one moment which is the most exciting part of each day…it’s when the post arrives. And it does in different ways and at different times. For example, when I was at the Pioneer Centre, it used to be dropped off at the main office at around 10.30am and you needed to go and pick up…it did change as the time went (and what doesn’t change?), when I lived in Cleobury the post came around 11 and sometimes midday which meant I needed to wait till I finsihed work to get it, in Birmingham (I lived there for 3-4 months) the post came at 11.30 every day…Pensnett – 12pm onwards, and now in Stourbridge – it’s still a mystery but the post comes!
So why am I so excited about receiving post? Well, it’s not only recieving but also sending it to people you love – letters, cards, packets…it’s showing them how much you love them and it doesn’t matter how far away you are at that moment.

video

The moment when you open a post box or go through tons of addressed to a number of different people post and then you find ‘an exciting post’. It come in different forms and sizes, sometime it can be damaged but you don’t care because it is not a bill or nobody is trying to sell you anything. It is simply a gift of love from someone who cares about you.

Before the ‘exciting mail’ is opened you study the handwriting and try to guess how far it might have come from…and then you open it and you’re gone from the present for 5, 10 or 15 minutes reading the news from an old friend, sister or a person who have lost contact with a long time ago…
After you’ve read your ‘exciting mail’ you can’t wait for some free time to return the exciting mail…it can happen straight away, or maybe a week or two later but it doesn’t really matter when, what does matter is how much joy and excitment and love you will give to the person when they receive mail and among all the boring stuff they will find an envelope with their name on.
This is why I am so so so exciting about receiving mail, so i know I am loved and so I can show my love to others…

Of course most of the time there are tiny dissapointments when you don’t receive anything apart from boring mail but that’s ok, because you have something to wait for the next day and it makes it even more exciting for that time…
